Barkan Counter Balance pickup concept is about too radically styled for a pickup, and with a couple of interesting features. Italian designer Elad Barkan decided to make this truck himself after he had trouble dealing with auto manufacturers. The concept has a storage area in a trunk at the front to hold groceries or related items, while the “smart bed” displays intelligence in its ability to expand from 5 feet to 7.5 feet without creating much of a fuss. Power can come from an E85 powered engine, and for some reason, even propane can fuel this pickup. It is on display at the New York Auto Show.
